In 2013 SE MODU “Central design institute” together with the Lithuanian Company “E.MILIŪNO STUDIJA” commenced the working documentation elaboration on the “Public Service Provision Centre” Facility – an arena designed to hold the Basketball European Championship in 2015.
The Complex is a multi-functional 6-level oblong facility. 18.5 thous. seats are located in the central part of the Complex, made in shape of a cup. Western part of the facility is connected to a gym, sports club premises, and a swimming-pool. The Complex comprises as well: a gym, bars, restaurants, “fast-food” bars, banquet halls, a kitchen for box service, souvenir shopping area, etc.
Overall height of the Facility is 31.30 m. The facility had been designed in order to be able to house high-level events related to volleyball, mini-football, badminton, tennis, handball, ice hockey, calisthenics, motorcycle racing, tournaments for physically-disabled people, etc. Such wide range of events that could be held in the Facility is achieved due to transformable stands and movable stage.
